Designed for use with Cat6a Shielded Networking cables that have a solid core. Solid core cables should always be terminated using IDC connections (punch down terminals) to provide a secure connection.

Usually you would use a faceplate or patch panel to terminate solid core cables and then pre-made short cables. Sometimes however you may want to connect directly to your device/router /CCTV camera/ Switch etc and so a connector such as this allows you to punch down your solid cable in the IDC terminal and then connect straight to the device.

The removable insert allows you to easily terminate the cable and cut off excess before sliding into the housing and closing the hood to terminate the connection.
